First step of being a Cloud Bender (AWS)

AWS Cloud

One would ask why Cloud/AWS, I’ve heard the term “cloud” before and even attempted to write the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certificate, and guess what? I didn't study for it and I failed. And I was too Junior to understand the need for cloud, I wanted a certificate to add to my cv at the time.

I am working now and we are having sprints, before every sprint my Senior always had to deploy to our dev environment, I then started to question what exactly was this deployment and what we use. They mentioned a server and AWS, and I picked up on that and started doing my research, and find out that the best way to learn was to purchase an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Udemy course. It was a great course because It taught me about all AWS services, and before I could finish it I was given the responsibility of deploying our project to our dev environment. So I got more exposure to servers and DevOps.

From there on I decided that I will write the certification and one thing that I did differently while prepping for the certification Is that I wasn't doing it for the paper but to understand most of the AWS services, so that means a lot of notes and scheduling my time. I would have my study time on my calendar and never cheat my time to study.

After studying for a month Monday to Sunday I wrote the exam and managed to pass, and I am now AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, and what's next is the AWS Certified Developer - Associate.
